During a gap year from college in Ontario, Diana came to Vernon in 1976 to hang glide. She was in love with free flight and spent 6 years flying sites around BC, Alberta, Ontario, California, Arizona, and in Mexico.
She got her Glider Pilot Licence in 2004 and has piloted gliders in BC, Alberta, Ontario, Arizona, California, Nevada, Florida, as well as some epic wave soaring in Vermont.
She became a member of the Civil Aviation Search and Rescue Association (CASARA) in 1992 and is currently dual certified as a Navigator and Spotter.
Diana is inspired by the stories of Vernon Flying Club members who are part of Canada’s aviation history, and welcomes any invitation to promote aviation or to just go flying.
